Checked on October 9, 2026: Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026. That is 41 days away. Here is what is official, what comes from store data, and what you should not trust.
Key takeaways
- Launch date: November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
- Digital preload starts at local midnight on November 12, 2026.
- Rockstar has not published an unlock time. Regional times floating around come from store data.
- No edition gives early access, according to Take-Two's CEO as reported by the press.
The date and where it came from
GTA VI was first announced with a 2025 window. It was delayed to May 26, 2026, and then, in November 2025, to November 19, 2026. Since then the date has stayed put. Rockstar's own pages and support articles use it, and Take-Two cited the "November 19th launch" when it reported earnings in August 2026.
Preload and physical copies
Rockstar's support page says codes redeemed before launch start preloading on November 12. Physical copies are a box with a download code and no disc. They ship or arrive for pickup from November 12 as well, so a physical buyer still has to download the game.
What about the launch time?
Rockstar has not announced an unlock hour. A fan site read the PlayStation Store country list and found about 15 regional windows, running from 11:00 UTC on November 18 to 06:00 UTC on November 19, as of September 11. That is unofficial, and store timestamps can change.

Could it slip again?
Nobody can promise that. What we can say is that Rockstar is selling pre-orders and merchandise tied to the date, and no delay has been announced.
