Whenever a huge game gets close to release, fake downloads, "free keys" and cheat tools appear everywhere. GTA VI is no exception. The good news is that the real facts are simple, and they make most scams easy to spot.

Any website that tells you something very different is worth a second look. For prices and editions see our editions and price page.
The most common scams
1. "GTA 6 PC download"
Since there is no PC version announced, any file that claims to be GTA 6 for PC is fake. The real game size has not been announced either, and huge files such as a 113 GB "ISO" have already turned out to be malware. Never run them.
2. "Free GTA 6 key" or "free Ultimate Edition"
Real giveaways come from official channels, never from random websites asking for your login. If a site wants your password, your email code or a payment, close it.
3. "Early access" or "beta" invites
Be very careful with messages that offer early access through a link. Official news comes from official channels, and phishing links are built to steal your account.
4. Cheat or money generator tools
Tools that promise unlimited money or cheats are almost always malware. And no cheats have been announced for GTA VI. Our GTA 6 cheats page explains what is known.
Where to get real information
Use only official sources: the Rockstar Games website, the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Store. For news in plain language, read our GTA 6 hub and the release date page.
How to protect yourself
- Check the address. Scam sites copy the look of real stores but use slightly different addresses.
- Turn on two-step login for your Rockstar, PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and email accounts.
- Use a different password for every site.
- Don't click links in messages from strangers, even if they look like friends.
- Ask a parent or adult before you pay for anything online.
While you wait
Instead of risking your account, play the game that is already here. GTA 5 roleplay servers are live right now, and many streamers cover GTA 6 news too.
