On October 14, Kotaku reported that the GTA VI leaker known as Cyberleek took its website offline and posted a three-part message titled 'End of the road'. According to the report, the leaker wrote that the leaks stop here, 'for now', and that there is no plan to publish a full build of the game.
The stated reason is money. The leaker says a build exists but will not be uploaded because its cryptocurrency coin never reached a value of $30 million. The leaker also denies the coin was a scam and calls it a donation. Kotaku presents all of this as the leaker's own, unverified claims.
The message also includes a threat: Cyberleek claims that if someone 'removes' it, a so-called dead man's switch would release more material. Nobody has verified that this mechanism exists. Rockstar and Take-Two have not commented on the announcement in the coverage we reviewed.
For context, the leaks began spreading on August 18, and Take-Two filed subpoenas on August 20 against Microsoft and Discord in a New York federal court to identify those responsible, according to Notebookcheck's August reporting. Rockstar's official release date has not changed: November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Our take: the practical advice for players is the same as before. Do not search for, download or share leaked builds or clips. Besides spoiling a game you have waited years for, files from unknown sources are a common way to spread malware, and many of them are scams. Oggo will not link to leaked material. Official trailers, the release date, pre-order details and Rockstar's own announcements are all on our GTA VI hub.
