All Red Dead Redemption 2 cheats in 2026: every exact phrase and how to unlock them

Red Dead Redemption 2 came out on October 26, 2018 (PC on November 5, 2019) and has sold around 87 million copies. Its cheats feel like the game: instead of codes, they are short, mysterious sentences. Type one right and you get infinite ammo, a war horse or even a circus wagon.

How to enter RDR2 cheats

1. Open the Pause menu.
2. Go to Settings, then Cheats.
3. Press Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) to choose Enter Cheat. On PC it is the same menu, with the button shown on screen.
4. Type the phrase exactly and confirm.
5. Back in the Cheats list, select the cheat to switch it on or off.

Once you've entered a phrase, it stays in your cheat list, so you can switch it on and off later without typing it again.

Here is the full list. The last column shows whether a cheat works from the start or has to be unlocked with a newspaper first.

What the cheats can do

The RDR2 phrases cover a lot more than guns. Here is what you'll find in the list, grouped so you know where to look:

• Weapons and ammo: basic, heavy or stealth weapon sets, a gunslinger loadout and infinite ammo.
• Arthur himself: Dead Eye upgrades level by level, infinite Dead Eye and stamina, refilled or fortified cores, and a boost to all your stats.
• Honor: set it to maximum, minimum or perfectly neutral.
• Horses: a stronger bond with your horse, a horse that answers your call from far away, a racehorse, an Arabian, a random horse or a war horse.
• Wagons: a stagecoach, a wagon, a buggy and the famous circus wagon.
• Camp and gear: camp upgrades, all outfits and all recipes.
• The law: raise your wanted level, switch wanted levels off or clear every bounty.

The newspaper unlocks

Some phrases won't do anything until you unlock them. Once you reach the right chapter, buy a newspaper from a newspaper seller, and the cheat is unlocked. The list above shows which chapter each one belongs to, from Chapter 1 all the way to the Epilogue. If a phrase from the list doesn't work, you probably haven't reached the right chapter or bought that newspaper yet.

The catches

• No saving while a cheat is active. You will see a warning, and the game will not save until you turn the cheats off.
• No trophies or achievements while a cheat is active.
• Story mode only. Cheats don't work in Red Dead Online.

Best cheats to try first

• Infinite Dead Eye: slow time and paint targets as long as you want. Perfect for big shootouts.
• War horse: a tough horse built for fights. You need the Epilogue newspaper for it.
• Circus wagon: totally useless, totally hilarious. Also an Epilogue unlock.
• Reveal map: the whole map at once, great for planning a trip. Unlocks in Chapter 3.
• Honor cheats: jump straight to maximum, minimum or neutral honor and see how people react to Arthur.
• Wanted level cheats: clear your bounties or raise your wanted level when you want a quick fight with the law.

Yes, there is also a money cheat in RDR2, unlike GTA 5. Just remember: while it is active, you can't save.
