What about the Netflix show or Geralt?

Doug Cockle returns to voice Geralt. The game is not tied to the TV series, and it follows the video game story told by CD PROJEKT RED.

What is not confirmed

No price, exact release date or gameplay demo for sale has been announced. Rumored details you may see online, such as leaked story beats, are unconfirmed, so treat them as rumor. The studio also did not offer a hands-on demo of the game at gamescom 2026, as far as we found.

Why the wait is long

The studio moved from its own engine to Unreal Engine 5, and it is building a whole new trilogy rather than one game. Pre-production ran from May 2022 to November 2024. That is a large reason the game is still some years away.

What to play while you wait

Witcher 3 Remastered launched on September 29, 2026, and the Songs of the Past expansion is planned for 2027. A Witcher 1 remake is on hold and will build on Witcher 4 foundations, according to CD PROJEKT RED. More in our future of Witcher guide.
