What was said
80.lv reports that Xbox, through CEO Asha Sharma and Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball, addressed rumors that GTA VI would be streamed exclusively or on PC. Ball dismissed those rumors and confirmed the game will stream at launch. Per The Verge's report on an all-hands meeting, Sharma told staff Xbox may be involved in something related to GTA VI that "no other platform holder is doing". The exact wording of her comment reaches us secondhand, so we do not read more into it.

What this means for PC players
If you were hoping that cloud streaming would give PC players an early way in, the answer is no for now. Our PC release guide lists the official facts and the rumors, including a report about a PC release in early 2027. That report is unconfirmed. PC players should wait for a Rockstar announcement and ignore any site that claims to offer a "GTA 6 PC download".
What this means for console players
For PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players, nothing changes: the game launches November 19, 2026. The cloud question matters only if you plan to stream from an Xbox account instead of installing. Cloud hours are limited by tier, and it is not clear how many hours a game like GTA VI would use. Until Xbox publishes details, treat the hours above as reported figures and check Xbox's own announcement before you rely on cloud access.
