BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025: results, champion and story

The first Major with 32 teams was won by Vitality, 2–1 over The MongolZ, after dropping Mirage 5–13 and taking Dust II 13–4 and Inferno 13–6. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut earned his second MVP, and became the third player to win MVP at more than one Major. The line-up of apEX, ZywOo, flameZ, mezii and ropz was coached by XTQZZZ. For The MongolZ the final was historic: they became the first Asian team to reach a Major grand final. The format changed too: 32 teams in three Swiss stages, and the first Major with direct invites since Berlin 2019. There was a controversy off the server: BESTIA was replaced by Legacy after visa problems, which drew backlash from BESTIA and others. Defending champion Team Spirit was eliminated in the quarterfinals by MOUZ. The Moody Center in Austin on the University of Texas campus hosted the entire event.

Three 16-team Swiss-system stages, then an eight-team single-elimination playoff. Group matches are best-of-one except progression and elimination matches (best-of-three); all playoff matches are best-of-three. 32 teams took part, and the prize pool was $1,250,000.
