Rockstar has not published a separate price for the upgrade in the pages we read. One outlet said it assumed the UK Standard price was 79.99 pounds, while another reported 69.99. What the Ultimate Edition adds
Rockstar's support page lists 16 items in the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. They include the '95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, personalized weapon variants, Vice City styles, Jason's safehouse vehicles, the Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's mod shops, a salon, a clothing store, a tattoo parlor, a classic car collection and more. Rockstar says the bonuses are spread across the story, and new items appear after each chapter. Some fans have criticized this as content locked behind a higher price, according to HotHardware. That is an opinion, not a fact.

The GTA+ detail needs care. Rockstar's support page states it for digital orders, but HotHardware reported it only for PlayStation, and PlayStation's page claims it for digital pre-orders before November 20 with a claim window to March 31, 2027. Confirm on your Xbox store page if you care about it. Physical pre-orders include the game code and the Vintage Vice City Pack, according to Rockstar.
Physical copies and region locks
Boxes contain a download code only, and no disc. Copies ship and are available for pickup from November 12 so you can preload. PlayStation codes work only on accounts registered in the matching country or region, so buy from a store in your account's region. Xbox codes are not region-locked. Rockstar's page also says Japanese codes expire 170 days after issue.
Where to buy and what to watch for
Digital copies are sold on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store. Boxed codes are sold by retailers. HotHardware reported that in the US the Standard Edition is listed at stores such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop and Target, while the Ultimate Edition is digital only. Because the box has no disc, a boxed copy is just a way to pay at a shop. You still need the download, and you still need free storage on your console.
Always compare the final price with tax. A retailer may run a discount or a gift card offer, and those are the retailer's deals, not Rockstar's. Never pay anyone outside an official store or a known retailer. A code sent in a chat message is a common scam.
Standard or Ultimate: which to buy
- If you only want the story and online mode, Standard is enough. Nothing in the Ultimate list is a story-skipping advantage, as it is tied to progress.
- If you love cosmetics, vehicles and shops, Ultimate saves you from a separate upgrade purchase later.
- If you are unsure, buy Standard. Rockstar says the upgrade can be bought at any time after your code is redeemed.
