GTA 6 on PC: Release Date, Rumors and What Is Official

Is there a GTA 6 PC release date? No. As of October 14, 2026, Rockstar has not announced a PC version, a PC date or PC system requirements. The game launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Searches for "gta 6 pc release" jumped in the last day because of a new report. That report is unconfirmed, and this guide separates it from the official facts.

Key takeaways

• Rockstar's official GTA VI page lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC is not mentioned.
• Take-Two's CEO has talked about PC in general terms several times, but he has never confirmed a GTA VI PC version or a date.
• A report on October 13, 2026, citing four anonymous sources, claims a PC release in the first quarter of 2027. It is a rumor.
• There are no official PC requirements. Any list you see online is made up.
• Any "GTA 6 PC download" is fake and may be malware.

Official facts and rumors side by side

What Rockstar says

Rockstar's official GTA VI page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it says the game plays best on PS5. Rockstar's support page on platforms and editions talks only about those two consoles as well. Neither page mentions PC. Until Rockstar posts on its Newswire, there is no PC version to buy, pre-order or preload.

What Take-Two has said

Take-Two does not announce Rockstar's platforms for it. Its comments have been general.

• May 2024: CEO Strauss Zelnick said the lack of a PC announcement was not "set in stone" and that platform news would come in due time.
• May 2026 earnings call: Zelnick called PC a large and growing market, said most hit games eventually reach all platforms, and noted that GTA VI has so far been announced for consoles only. The call also confirmed that the November 19 date still stood. He gave no PC commitment or timing.
• September 17, 2026 shareholder meeting: Press reports say he called PC more and more important but did not confirm a GTA VI PC version.

Put together, these comments make a later PC release sound possible. They do not make it official. One outlet also noted that Take-Two's outlook listed a "platform extension" release for a future period, and it guessed this could mean PC. Take-Two did not say that.

The October 13 rumor, explained

On October 13, 2026, GamesBeat reported that four industry sources said a PC version is planned for the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar did not answer its request for comment, and neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has confirmed anything. Earlier rumors have pointed to other dates, such as February 2027, and they all came from anonymous people. Treat each of them as a guess until Rockstar speaks.

GTA 6 PC system requirements

Publishers post PC requirements shortly before a PC release or pre-order, and none exist here. Sites that show "minimum" and "recommended" specs are guessing from GTA V or from other big games. You can check your current hardware against other modern games with our Can I Run It tool, which helps you see where your PC stands, but it cannot tell you whether GTA VI will run.

Why a console-first launch is normal for Rockstar

Rockstar launched Red Dead Redemption 2 on consoles in 2018 and on PC in late 2019. Grand Theft Auto V reached PC in 2015, about a year and a half after its first console launch. This history is public, and it is why many fans expect a gap again. It is a pattern, not a promise, and it gives no date for GTA VI. If a PC version does come, Rockstar will announce it itself, most likely on its Newswire.

What PC players can do now

1. Play GTA V and roleplay. Servers run on PC through FiveM. See the Enhanced vs Legacy guide, our GTA RP server list and the games hub for other big titles.
2. Decide on console only if you want launch day. The console price and bonuses are in our price and editions guide.
3. Follow official sources. Check the launch page and the GTA 6 hub for news.
4. Skip fake downloads. Read the scams guide.

Common mistakes

• Believing "leaked" requirements or a PC "release date" from a video thumbnail.
• Reading an old PC rumor as news. Some dates quoted online, such as an early 2026 PC window, were opinions and never came true.
• Entering account details on a site that promises PC pre-orders. None are open.
