Launch day
Servers reopened after about eight hours of maintenance. A few players saw the game as not playable on Steam for several minutes, and a restart fixed it for some. MeinMMO reported about 400,000 concurrent Steam players by the evening, and NC sent thank-you gifts. Patch notes that day cut the character deletion wait from 168 to 24 hours and fixed several quest bugs.
Price and packs
The game is free. Founder's Packs cost $24.99, $49.99 and $99.99 on Steam. The packs are optional. A fan site that tracks NC notices also reports an optional monthly subscription tied to the market. Check the in-game shop for current terms.
Why it matters
Inven Global reported that AION 2 reached the top of Steam's global top sellers chart in more than ten regions during early access. The game is also built around a faction war with large cross-server fights, so a big launch population matters for that mode. New servers were added and marked in the server list to spread players out.
Regions and unknowns
Servers cover North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Mainland China is handled separately. Not announced: Western mobile, console ports, and progress transfer from Korea or Taiwan.
