WARDOGS is a tactical shooter for up to 100 players on a big map. It is in Steam Early Access, so some systems change often. This guide covers the basics that stay useful.
Key takeaways
- Three teams fight over a random Control Zone. The team with the most players inside scores.
- You buy your loadout each life with cash. Teamwork earns cash.
- There is no fixed class. Your role comes from what you buy.
- Check Steam news before you play, because patches change prices and unlocks.
How a match works
Each match has a 2 by 2 km Control Zone. The team with the most players inside earns points, and the first to 100 wins. A smaller moving hot zone can give double cash and points. Reports say the map is 256 square km and the setting is a fictional, run-down industrial area in Eastern Europe.

Cash and loadouts
You pick weapons, gear, utilities and vehicles before each life. Cash is not only for kills. Reviving squadmates, carrying teammates to the zone and holding the objective all pay. Cash carries over between matches, so a careful start pays off later.
Your first ten minutes
- Pick a community server marked for low levels or Infantry Mode if you see one. The 0.1.2 patch added a Deploy flow that highlights these.
- Buy a simple rifle and basic medical gear first.
- Stay near your squad and move toward the zone together.
- Revive teammates when it is safe. It earns cash.
- Do not rush vehicles. Learn the map on foot first.
Roles you can try
| Role | What it does |

| Assault | Front-line fighting in the zone |
| Medic | Revives and heals, good for cash |
| Recon | Spotting and long-range shots |
| Support | Supplies and base building |
| Pilot / Driver | Helicopters and ground vehicles |
Unlock levels for these tracks were moved in the Season 1 patch notes, so read the latest notes for exact numbers.
