Cyberpunk 2077 has three gun families and many named iconic weapons. We list well-known ones from PC Gamer and NME guides. We give no damage numbers, because stats scale with your level and patches change them.
Key takeaways
- Guns come in Power, Tech and Smart types. Smart weapons need specific cyberware (Wikipedia).
- Rarity is shown by color tiers, and you can customize and mod ranged weapons.
- Many iconic weapons come from quests. A few are Act 2 rewards, so they are not day-one items.
- You can finish the game without killing anyone, robots excepted.

Famous weapons and how you get them
| Item | Type | How press guides say you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Skippy | Smart pistol | Found in an alley in Vista Del Rey, Heywood, via a side job marker |
| Mantis Blades | Cyberware, melee | Buy from a ripperdoc once you have 20 street cred |
| Malorian Arms 3516 | Power pistol | Reward in the side mission "Chippin' In" (Act 2) |
| Lizzie | Tech pistol | Act 2 main mission "Automatic Love" |
| Divided We Stand | Smart assault rifle | Win a shooting contest in the side job "Stadium Love" |
| Overwatch | Power sniper rifle | Reward at the end of "Riders on the Storm" |
The Skippy fix is the easiest early pick, since it needs only a side job marker. NME also lists a non-lethal gold-plated baseball bat. Locations can change with patches, so check in game.
How to choose a weapon
- Match the gun type to your build. Smart weapons suit a Smart Link implant.
- Look at rarity color and your level. NME says Skippy scales to your level.
- Try mods. Customization can matter more than the base gun.
- Disassemble spare guns for crafting parts, as NME notes.
Phantom Liberty
The expansion adds new weapons and quickhacks, per Wikipedia. We have not listed them to avoid story spoilers.
