Hardest Silksong bosses: Lost Lace, Last Judge and Widow

Three fights stop more players than any others. Here is how to break through.

Silksong has a reputation for hard boss fights, and three names come up the most: Lost Lace, Last Judge and Widow. A boss guide from PCGamesN calls Lost Lace "by far the hardest" main boss, calls Last Judge particularly difficult because she is fast and large, and describes Widow as a big step up from Fourth Chorus. This page gives you a plan for each one. Facts were checked on October 10, 2026.

Key takeaways

  • Hard fights are about pattern and position. Fix one problem per attempt.
  • Step under attacks that are high, and jump or dash the ones that sweep the floor.
  • Use tools and passive damage in the phases where you cannot stay close.
  • Quit for the day after a few bad tries in a row. You will do better tomorrow.

Widow (Bellhart, Act 1)

Widow attacks with fast fury swipes and drops bells from the ceiling. There is little room to breathe, and the last phase is the main threat. The key is patience: take one hit, then back off. Do not chase her across the room, because the bells punish a player who stays still and a player who runs in without looking up.

  1. Phase one: learn the swipes. Dash through the end of a swipe, then hit once.
  2. Phase two: watch the ceiling before every move. A bell falling in your path is more dangerous than the boss.
  3. Final phase: heal only after a full attack string ends. If you are low on health, stay near the center so you have room in both directions.

Last Judge (Blasted Steps and Bilewater, Act 1)

Last Judge is quick and big. She tosses and drags with a thurible and later adds fire waves. The guide we used says positioning and muscle memory matter most, which is another way of saying: the fight is the same every time, so practice.

  1. Pick a safe spot. Stay at mid distance so you can react to both the toss and the drag.
  2. Learn the sound and animation of the toss. Move before it lands.
  3. In the fire wave phase, do not panic. Count the gaps between waves and move through them.

Lost Lace (The Abyss, Act 3)

Lost Lace is described as the hardest main boss. She mixes a triple dash, a somersault slash, Void teleports, tendrils and waves. Here is a plan that matches the tips in the guide.

AttackBest answer
Somersault slashStep under it instead of jumping.
ParryPogo (downward strike) after she parries.
Void wavesSprint and double-jump.
Triple dashWatch her stance, then dash through at the right moment.

Do not try to learn every attack at once. In your first attempts, just survive and note which attacks hit you. Then add one answer at a time. Win by taking small safe hits, not by racing.

Gear and tools

Across these fights, the guide notes the value of tools that deal damage without you staying close: tacks for poison damage, trip mines, cogflies and curveclaw. Experiment before you commit. Which tool works also depends on the arena: in some places, silk powers do not work, so a physical tool is the better choice.

A simple practice routine

Treat each boss like a puzzle with three parts: the opening, the middle and the finish. In the first ten minutes, only try to reach the second phase and ignore the win. In the next ten, practice the second phase from a clean start by dying on purpose in phase one if you must, so you see the new attacks more often. Last, practice the finish with full focus, because most players die in the final phase when they get excited. After every attempt, write one sentence about what hurt you. After five notes, you will see a pattern, and the pattern tells you what to practice next. This routine sounds slow, but it is faster than repeating the same mistake for an hour.

Also check the basics: is your health full, are your tools restocked, and is your sound on? Many boss attacks have a sound cue before they land, and knowing the cue gives you extra reaction time.

Mindset and breaks

  1. Warm up on easier fights so your hands know the dash timing.
  2. Set a limit, like ten attempts. After that, stop for a while.
  3. Watch a stream of someone fighting the same boss to see the timing. Seeing it live helps more than reading.

FAQ

Which Silksong boss is the hardest?

Lost Lace in the Abyss is described as the hardest main boss by PCGamesN. Last Judge and Widow are also common walls.

Is it better to level up or learn the pattern?

Both help. In Silksong most progress comes from learning the pattern, but upgrades and better tools make mistakes less costly.

What should I do if I keep dying to the same attack?

Isolate that attack. Practice only the answer to it for several attempts, then add the next attack.

Can I skip a hard boss?

Some are required to progress and some are optional. If a required boss blocks you, explore other areas first for upgrades.
