What it adds

V rescues the President of the NUSA after a crash in Dogtown. The expansion adds the Dogtown district, the Relic attribute with a nine-ability skill tree, a level cap of 60, vehicle combat, new weapons and quickhacks and a new ending. Idris Elba plays Solomon Reed. It requires the base game.

Is it worth it?

Critics were very positive, and it won several awards, including the Golden Joystick Best Game Expansion. If you like the main game and want a tighter story, it is an easy yes. Check the price on your store, since we could not confirm a standalone price.

Endings (spoilers)

The final act has several routes: assault Arasaka Tower solo, with Rogue, or with the Aldecaldos, or side with Hanako. All of them need you to beat Adam Smasher. RPG Site lists endings such as the Hanako deal ("The Devil"), the Johnny and Rogue assault, the Panam and Aldecaldos ending (the most positive), a secret ending called "Don't Fear the Reaper" and "Path of Least Resistance", where you skip the finale. Phantom Liberty adds "Things Done Changed" ("The Tower"), where V is cured but loses cyberware use; it requires Reed and Songbird alive.

Before you start

  1. Finish a good part of the main story first.
  2. Level up and upgrade your gear.
  3. Keep separate saves for endings.
