What is official

At the shareholder meeting on September 17, 2026, Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick said that no recurring consumer spending is planned for the launch, and that GTA V's online mode continues to be a strong business. The ESRB rating of GTA 6 has no "Users Interact" label, which would be expected for an online mode.

Rumours

Some leakers claim that an online mode will follow within weeks of the launch. This is not confirmed by Rockstar.
