About this hub

Minecraft is Mojang Studios' sandbox game about mining, building and surviving, and it is the best-selling video game of all time. It is not on Steam. You play Java Edition on PC through the Minecraft Launcher, or Bedrock Edition on PC, consoles and phones. This page shows who is live on Twitch and Kick, official trailers and our guides. Facts come from Mojang and Minecraft.net; rumors are labeled as rumors. Many players are children, so we also cover safe servers, Realms and parental controls.

FAQ

Is Minecraft on Steam?

No. Minecraft is not sold on Steam. PC players use the Minecraft Launcher from Minecraft.net, and console players buy it in their platform store.

When does Minecraft come to Switch 2?

Mojang announced a native Nintendo Switch 2 version for October 27, 2026. Owners of the Switch version get a digital upgrade path, with details still to be announced when we checked.

Is Minecraft safe for kids?

It is rated ESRB E10+ and PEGI 7. Child accounts have multiplayer off by default, and parents can control chat and friends. Community servers are not moderated by Mojang, so Realms or no multiplayer are safer for young players.
