Capcom released Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, 2026. Many players ask if the Nintendo Switch 2 version is worth it. Here is what is confirmed, and where reports disagree. For prices and editions, see our price and requirements guide.
Key takeaways
- Requiem is listed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, Switch 2 and GeForce NOW.
- Switch 2 uses DLSS upscaling from a low internal resolution.

How the Switch 2 version performs
Digital Foundry's early test, reported by Pure Xbox, found a native 540p image in docked mode, upscaled with Nvidia DLSS. It said the picture looked better than the Xbox Series S at 720p, but the frame rate was less steady: down to 30fps docked and the 20s handheld at worst. Gfinity describes a target of 60fps with dips, mostly in Leon's busy fights, and says Grace's sections hold close to 60. These accounts differ in detail, and Capcom may have patched the game since, so treat numbers as a snapshot.

Which version should you choose?
- Want the smoothest, sharpest game: PS5, Xbox Series X or a decent PC.
- Want to play on the go: Switch 2 is a fair choice.
- Have a weak PC: try GeForce NOW or check the demo first.
Older games on Switch 2
Nintendo Life reports that RE2 Deluxe Edition, RE3 and RE4 Gold Edition arrive as native Switch 2 ports on October 16, 2026. RE2 and RE3 were cloud-only on the first Switch, and RE4 is new to Nintendo. Wikipedia lists a Village Gold Edition on Switch 2 from February 2026. Physical format details for these ports were not confirmed.
Parents note: all of these are adult-rated. Handheld play does not change the content.
