ARC Raiders is an online shooter where players fight robots and each other. The ESRB rates it T for Teen (13+). This guide uses the ESRB's own parents page and Steam, checked on October 9, 2026. A rating is not a promise that a game suits your child, so judge for yourself.
Key takeaways
- ESRB T: Violence and Blood, plus Users Interact and In-Game Purchases.
- Players can meet and talk to strangers.
- Purchases are cosmetic and optional.
- Consoles need a paid online subscription.
What is in the game
You use guns against robots (ARC) and other players. There is blood, but the setting is science fiction. Some other Raiders may shoot you for your loot, and some may be friendly. That mix can be tense for younger kids.
Images are provided by Steam and belong to their publishers.
Online interaction
You need an Embark ID. The game supports voice chat near other players (proximity chat) and crossplay. Strangers can be rude or may betray a team-up. Steam also lists other-country ratings, such as Germany 16 and Brazil 14.
Spending
Raider Tokens are bought with real money. The ESRB says shop items are cosmetic and not needed to play. The Premium Reward Pass costs 1,150 Tokens. Set a spending limit or turn off card saving on the family account.
Cheating and fairness
Embark announced stricter anti-cheat on September 30, 2026, including permanent bans. A child who is banned unfairly can contact Embark support. Kids should never use cheat software, because it risks a permanent ban.
Parent checklist
- Use platform parental controls for playtime, chat and purchases.
- Show your child how to block, mute and report players.
- Remind them they are never in trouble for what another player does.
- Play together for a few raids first.
- Agree on a time limit. Raids are short, but they are easy to chain.
