Can I run WoW Midnight on a laptop?

Yes, if it meets the minimum: a six-core CPU, a 4 GB graphics chip, 8 GB RAM and an SSD. Integrated Intel Iris Xe2 graphics are on the minimum list.

Does WoW need an SSD now?

Yes. The listed requirement is 128 GB of free SSD space, and press coverage says hard drives are no longer supported.

Yes, WoW is offered for Windows and macOS. We did not find a current Mac requirements table, so check Blizzard support.

World of Warcraft Midnight System Requirements for PC (2026)

World of Warcraft: Midnight asks for more than older expansions. The game needs Windows 10 or newer, DirectX 12 and an SSD. Below are the published specs and a few tips for the install. We read the numbers on a requirements database that lists Blizzard's table; Blizzard's own support page did not load for us, so please compare with it before you buy hardware.

Key takeaways

Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, 6-core CPU, 8 GB RAM, 4 GB VRAM GPU.
Recommended: Windows 11, 8-core CPU, 16 GB RAM, 8 GB VRAM GPU.
Both lists need 128 GB of free SSD space.
WoW runs on Windows and macOS through the Battle.net app.

Minimum and recommended specs

Part	Minimum	Recommended
OS	Windows 10 64-bit (May 2019 Update or newer)	Windows 11
CPU	6 cores, 4.0 GHz boost (Intel Coffee Lake or AMD Ryzen Zen 2)	8 cores, 5.2 GHz boost (Intel Core Ultra Series 2 or AMD Ryzen Zen 5)
RAM	8 GB	16 GB
Graphics	4 GB: GeForce GTX 10 series, AMD RDNA 1, Intel Iris Xe2	8 GB: GeForce RTX 40, AMD RDNA 3, Intel Arc B-Series
Storage	128 GB free, SSD	128 GB free, SSD

What this means for your PC

The CPU matters a lot in WoW, especially in busy cities and raids. A weak or old processor causes low frame rates even with a good graphics card. Hard drives are no longer supported, so you need a solid-state drive.

The listed 128 GB is a floor. One guide suggests keeping around 200 GB free because installs can grow before patches. That figure is an estimate from a third party, not from Blizzard.

Install checklist

Check your Windows version with the winver command.
Update your graphics driver.
Install the Battle.net app and choose a drive with enough free space.
Start on medium settings and raise them if the frame rate is stable.
Limit addons at first. Heavy addons use extra RAM.

What about WoW: Forever and Classic?

Blizzard has not published a separate system requirements list for World of Warcraft: Forever that we could find. Treat the Midnight specs as a guide only. Classic versions are lighter in general, but we did not find a current official table for them either.
