Patch 1.1.0.0, named Kord Breach, went live on August 3, 2026, after a delay from July. It is the biggest update since version 1.0 and the first season for Escape from Tarkov. Facts below were checked on October 9, 2026.

Key takeaways

  • Season 1 is optional. Your existing PvP and PvE characters are not reset.
  • Seasonal characters play on separate servers with their own economy.
  • The battle pass is free and works across modes.
  • Season 2 is only a preliminary roadmap item, not a confirmed date.

How the season works

When you start, you pick a profile: the new seasonal one, your old PvP profile, or your PvE profile. A seasonal character starts fresh. You choose positive and negative modifiers, and they must balance each other.

Modifiers

Some modifiers were shown before launch. They may have changed for balance, so check the game.

TypeExamples
GlobalNo insurance, no Found in Raid need for hideout
NegativeAllergic, Hemophilia, Osteoporosis
PositiveMarathon, Bushborne, The Tarkov Shooter

Battle pass and other changes

The battle pass has no premium tier. You earn rewards by turning in TerraGroup documentation found in raids. The patch also added new weapons, a reworked task system, economy changes for all players and changes to help new players. An original BlackDivision questline was added, and a ranked League system was announced for shortly after launch.
