Overwatch PC Requirements 2026: Minimum, Recommended, Install

Overwatch is free, so the first question is whether your PC can run it. Below are the specs listed on the Steam store page, checked on October 9, 2026. Specs can change, so look at the store page again before a big download. You can install the game from Steam or from Battle.net.

Key takeaways

Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i3 or AMD Phenom X3 8650, 6 GB RAM.
Recommended: Core i7 or Ryzen 5, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1060 level graphics.
Storage: 50 GB, DirectX 11 and a broadband connection.
Progress is shared across platforms, so Steam and Battle.net use the same account.

Minimum and recommended specs

Part	Minimum	Recommended
OS	Windows 10 64-bit	Windows 10 64-bit
CPU	Intel Core i3 or AMD Phenom X3 8650	Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 5
RAM	6 GB	8 GB
Graphics	NVIDIA GTX 600 series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series	GTX 1060 / GTX 1650, AMD R9 380 / RX 6400, or Intel Arc A770
Other	DirectX 11, broadband, 50 GB storage	DirectX 11, broadband, 50 GB storage

Think of minimum as "it starts". Recommended is closer to smooth play. A fast shooter feels better at a steady high frame rate, so a graphics card near the recommended level helps.

Steam or Battle.net?

Blizzard says you can play on PC through Battle.net and Steam, with cross-play and progression across platforms. You still use a Blizzard account. Pick the launcher you already use. Steam lists the game as free to play and also shows a paid bundle, so read what you click before you buy.

How to install

Check free space: at least 50 GB.
Open Steam or the Battle.net app and find Overwatch (listed as Overwatch on Steam).
Choose install and wait for the download.
Sign in with your Blizzard account when asked.
Open Settings and test your frame rate in a practice match.
