The Remastered edition looks much better, and the requirements went up with it. CD PROJEKT RED's support page confirms the structure, but not every number is easy to find. This guide separates what is official from what comes from third parties.
Key takeaways
- An SSD is required, Windows 10 is no longer supported and the minimum graphics card is a GTX 1660.
- There are six tiers: Minimum, Recommended, Ultra, RT Minimum, RT Recommended and Path Tracing.
- Storage figures conflict between sources: roughly 60 to 70 GB. Check your store page.
- You can revert to the classic version 1.32.
The tiers (partly third party)
A third-party site that cites the official table lists these examples. Treat the numbers as a guide and confirm on the support page.
| Tier | Target | Example hardware |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 1080p, 30 fps, Low | i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, GTX 1660, 12 GB RAM |
| Recommended | 1080p, 60 fps, High | i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X, RTX 2060 Super, 16 GB RAM |
| Ultra | 1440p | i7-13700K or Ryzen 7 7700X, RTX 3070 Ti, 24 GB RAM |
| Path tracing | 4K with DLSS and frame generation | RTX 5080, Ryzen 7 9800X3D or i9-13900K, 24 GB RAM |
Storage: conflicting numbers
One hardware site lists 70 GB, another about 60 GB, and the Epic version is reported as larger. Our advice: plan for 60 to 70 GB on an SSD, and check the number on your store page.
Steam Deck and Switch 2
CD PROJEKT RED's executive producer Jakub Kutrzuba told PC Gamer that the Remastered edition should run on Steam Deck about as the current game does, but looking much better. That is a statement, not an official Verified rating. A native Nintendo Switch 2 version also launched on September 29, and Gwent is touch-enabled there.
If your PC is below the minimum
- Keep the classic version 1.32 as an option.
- Try the Switch 2 or console version.
- Lower the resolution before the graphics preset.
