- September 1, 2026: Rockstar announces nopixel V with a trailer and a Newswire post, as a GTA V roleplay project.
- September 8, 2026: a closed beta starts through the Rockstar Games Launcher. It is invite-only, with around 450 creators and established roleplayers. More invite phases were promised.
How does it run?
According to GTA Intel, nopixel V has its own separate entry in the Rockstar Games Launcher, listed between GTA 5 Legacy and GTA 5 Enhanced. It is only visible to invited accounts and was first spotted in screenshots posted by streamers.
What is new?
GTABase reports new features including reworked character customization, new areas such as the Pixel Hotel and Casino, a six-block revamp of Cypress Flats, refreshed visuals, new ways to earn a living and more reactive pedestrians.
Twitch Drops
Between September 8 and 30, watching nopixel V streams on Twitch could earn viewers up to GTA$1.5 million and a Burger Shot tracksuit. That window has ended. The exact watch-time thresholds were not disclosed.
What about the normal NoPixel servers?
Dexerto reports that NoPixel Public and NoPixel 4.0 continue unchanged for players who were not selected for the beta.
Is this connected to GTA 6?
Rockstar has not announced any GTA VI multiplayer or roleplay mode. Any link between nopixel V and GTA VI is speculation. Insider Gaming and GTABase both point this out.
